Hi, I’m Gayan, I am a certified air conditioning technician with more than a 10 years  of experience working with residential and commercial HVAC systems.

My career in refrigeration and air conditioning I started it right after left the school and join with technical training through the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA), where I earned my besic about air conditioning, after few years I got NVQ Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications. I’m also registered and credentialed through the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) in collaboration with the Engineering Council.

Since then, I’ve spent years working directly with air conditioning systems in the field—not just learning the theory, but diagnosing problems, carrying out repairs, installing equipment, and helping customers understand what is actually happening with their AC systems.

My Professional Journey

I started my professional journey as an AC trainee at United Electricals, one of Sri Lanka’s oldest companies in the industry.

While I was training there, I developed my practical skills in air conditioning installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, electrical diagnosis, and mechanical repairs. More importantly, this experience taught me how to approach an AC problem systematically rather than simply replacing parts and hoping for the best.I believe that as a trainee , I had the good.

Since 2016, I have worked as a professional AC technician at Damro, one of South Asia’s leading furniture and appliance retailers.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many of the major air conditioning brands found in homes and businesses, including:

• Samsung
• Midea
• Gree
• TCL

Working with different brands and models has given me an understanding of how air conditioning systems work, where problems commonly occur, and how different systems behave in real-world conditions.

Why I Created This Blog

Most people think that they need complicated HVAC knowledge when their air conditioner stops cooling, starts making strange noises, leaks water, or suddenly increases their electricity bill.

They want to know:

What is wrong with my AC?

Is it something simple I can check myself?

Do I need a technician?

Is this repair worth the cost?

What should I look for before buying a new air conditioner?

These are the kinds of questions I hear regularly through my work in the field. That’s why I created this website.

My goal is to turn the practical knowledge I’ve gained from years of working with air conditioners into clear, useful information that homeowners, renters, property managers, and businesses can actually use.
